Our Club Patron Jonty Bush and Vice-Patron Cr Steve Toomey joined us for breakfast this morning at the Corn St Cafe at West Ashgrove to help us congratulate some of our National medalists on their successes over the summer season.
Joining them were:
- Lee Martin (Gold 16 years National All Schools Shot Put/Silver U18 Junior Nationals Shot Put)
- Joel Drew (Silver National All Schools 400m Hurdles/ Bronze Junior Nationals 400m Hurdles)
- Tate Van Camp (Gold & Meet Records Primary Schools Nationals 800m/1500m/Medley Relay), Gold & Meet Record Junior Nationals U14 800m, Gold Junior Nationals 1500m)
- Tiana Solley (Bronze Open Nationals Heptathlon).
Unable to make it due to other commitments were Shea Caminiti (Gold 13 years 80m Hurdles) and Connor Duggan (Silver U20 Nationals Decathlon).
Jonty and Steve were also able to fill us in on some of the planning and likely legacy for sport in Brisbane of 2032.
Well done to our young medallists for these achievements which only come about through their own hard work, discipline and dedication.
Thanks also to our parents, coaches, officials and committee members whose support efforts provide the necessary platform for our young people to fulfill their potential.
