Cross Country

Each winter Queensland Athletics runs a well attended cross country series. Your annual membership provides you access to all events.

Weekly races are held at various locations across south east Queensland and are hosted by a QA Club. Each course is different providing huge variety. Our own club hosts the ‘Honeyeater St Park Course at Upper Kedron’ each year.

The cross country series lets you compete both individually as well as earn points for the club. Over the years the Ashgrove Rangers and its members have been quite competitive securing many a podium place and earning the reputation of being in the thick of many a race. Cross country team relays have also proven popular over the years.

There are no qualifying standards to get involved – everyone is welcome regardless of age or ability. The aim is to provide a safe and enjoyable, yet challenging, cross country experience for all athletes while also providing a pathway for those who are interested in progressing within the sport. The series prepares athletes for championship events where they can be selected for the Queensland Athletics Team to compete at the Australian Cross Country Championships and ultimately represent Australia internationally.
