Petfield Shield School Challenge

The Petfield Shield School Challenge race started in 2006 and is an annual primary school cross country race covering both a 1km and 2km distances at Dorrington Park, Ashgrove. It honours the late Joyce and Ron Petfield who were stalwarts of the club and supported our junior athletes over many years. Dorrington Park was also the club’s original training ground and we are thankful to Norths Hockey Club for letting us run it there each year.

The Petfield Shield School Challenge provides an opportunity for kids from prep to year 6 to compete with other public and private schools in the area. They also get to help their school win the coveted Petfield Shield Trophy for overall team performance.
