The annual call to outgreen Club President Ken Hastie seemed to promote an incredible amount of club energy today at the final round of the Brisbane Cross Country Series at Minnippi Parklands Tingalpa hosted by Thompson Estate.
Certainly our best rollup in many years to a south side venue suggests that Sundays aren’t quite as problematic for Cross Country as previously thought.
There were green singlets and lots of club support for our runners everywhere as very strong efforts came in particular from our Under 8 & Under 10 Girls in the 1k, Elliott Stannard in the Under 12 Boys 2k and another big win to Daniel Casey in the 4k highlighted the afternoon.
We have finished a credible third overall in what was a Series conducted in great spirit with our fellow clubs.
Congratulations to Toowong Harriers and Thompson Estate on their strong efforts through the season giving us levels to aspire to in future years.
A big thanks also to Queensland Athletics and all officials, parents, coaches and athletes involved in the Series.
We hold our breath now for the final individual pointscores to be published for the season with medals to be awarded at Victoria Park.
