Once again an electric atmosphere for the Petfield Trophy Primary Schools Cross Country Challenge with over 200 athletes competing in the 1k (Grade 3 and below) and 2k events.
Teams trophies went to Brookfield State School (Girls) and Marist Ashgrove (Boys).
Trophies were presented by Ashgrove Rangers President Mr Dan Murray and Ashgrove Rangers athlete Andrew Pfeffer. Andrew’s family connections trace back to coaching by Joyce Petfield at Dorrington Park in the 1980s for his mum Sonia Hams and uncle Stephen Hams who both excelled at Race Walking.
A big thank you to Norths Hockey Club for allowing us use of their clubhouse facilities to conduct the event.
We had a record number of schools involved this year so thanks to all the athletes, parents, teachers, coaches and officials who helped make it all go smoothly with the weather also treating us kindly in the end.
