A great way to start the GC50 weekend at Coolangatta with an excellent 29:56 in very hot conditions seeing Lynda Bateson finish second in the 60 plus age category of the 5k event.

Katherine Jackman was taking no chances with the sun beating down in the 25k at the Gold Cosst 50 making sure she was well protected to deal with it with a 2:38.43 clocking. Great work KJ!

Don’t know what sort of a man of steel you need to be to do this but John White did his best to stay cool finishing 40th place in 4:09.22 for the Ernies in extremely hot conditions at the National 50k Championship at the GC50. Well done John on a Herculean effort!

Nothing could hold Gina de la Cruz back from an excellent performance 21st place in 4:34.01 in the National 50k Championship for the Ernies and 4th place in the 40 to 49 years age category. Unlike most of us, Gina actually relishes hot conditions so the extreme conditions were more tolerable for her than many of her fellow competitors. Congratulations on a top result Gina!
