Although strong headwinds often made sprint PBs close to impossible, it was definitely our best Shield meet of the season so far with a great team effort at the Dane Bird-Smith Shield Meet today at QE2.
Wins went to Tate Van Camp in Heat 2 of the 800m in a PB of 1:58.88, Sam Shaw just outside his PB in the Under 14 200m in 26.35, Nate Griffin Under 14 100m B heat in 14.17, Adrian Keen in Masters Hammer 41.37 and Javelin 36.79m, Cooper Lofts 44.92 in Under 16 Javelin and Lynda Bateson Masters Shot with 6.40m.
An excellent team effort from everyone with very consistent results across sprints, distance, hurdles, throws and jumps so hopefully we might end up on the podium for today’s overall point score – have to wait for the official results from Qld Athletics but definitely a lot of momentum now heading towards the State Titles.
