Solid work by Intraining to present a tough Cross Country Challenge at Anzac Park Toowong today for the third race of the Brisbane Cross Country Series.
This venue with a compact start/finish area up close to the action always produces a great vibe with last week’s Short Course Champion from Toogoolowah Aidan Hobbs getting in some extra mileage for the Gold Coast Marathon acting as lead vehicle for a number of races.
Products of The Gap State High School cleaned up with Daisy Carter taking the Under 20 6k and Daniel Casey the Open 4k.
Ferny Grove High Met North Regionals hope Lara Wannenburgh just like last year used her Bunyaville parkrun background to advantage on the shifty ground underfoot to feature prominently in the Under 18 4k and there were promising efforts also from Max Roethig, Nick Bray and Sophie and Eva Hurley.
I would particularly like to thank all the athletes, parents and supporters of the club who turned out to support our runners today – we can try to provide the best of coaching but nothing will improve athletes like the feeling that they have a village behind them through thick and thin.
I would also like to acknowledge a strong win today by Zel Van Loggerenberg in the 14 years Girls 4k at QGSSSA as part of the winning State High team taking their 10th consecutive Title at the John Paul College course at Daisy Hill.
