Not sure exactly how we ended up at Victoria Park for an All Schools/Short Course Cross Country on Mother’s Day but athletes like Daniel Casey were extremely appreciative of their mums (in Dan’s case Melissa Harper) taking the time to cheer them on.

Well done to our medal winners Lynda Bateson (Gold 60 years plus), Elliott Stannard (Silver 9 years boys) and Kitty Stannard (Bronze 6 years girls).

Other athletes with team medals performances of note included Laura Bray (4th) and Zel Van Loggerenberg (5th) in the 13 years girls who claimed silver along with Harriet Sutton for Mt St Michael’s in the 13 years Girls teams and Perry Croft and Ethan Bird who got silver for Marist Ashgrove in the 14 years boys.

Others in or around the top 10 included Lizerne Van Loggerenberg (9 years girls), Nick Bray (11 years boys), Emilia Schulze (12 years girls) and George Daly (18/19 years boys).

A big thanks to everyone involved including Don Wallace, Don Stapleton, Russell Adams and Dan Murray who assisted with course setup and official duties.
