All good things must come to an end and after many years of assisting UQ Club President and former Centre Manager Tom Brandt at the annual 5k/10k race at the Corporate Cup, this year our jobs were finally replaced by AI.

Like many years it was supposedly Tom’s swansong at the event but we will poke our noses in next year just to check he doesn’t come back one last time.

Many thanks to Tom for all the support and assistance he has given to our club over the years through use of facilities for training, meets and seminars snd also the knowledge transfer he facilitated as Queensland Athletics State Coaching Director in the 1990s for coaches like Marty Lane’s coach Doug Weis.

It’s been an absolute pleasure to deal with a true gentleman of the sport.
