Jai Taurima Shield 2025

They say it’s the effort that counts and when the Titan’s Athletic Club from Las Vegas makes the effort to bring 24 athletes over here to QE2 for the Jai Taurima Shield the result seems to be that the locals lift even on a day where the prevailing headwinds are very difficult.

There were some very solid performances for our competitors including a National qualifier first up to Connor Campbell in the 400m Hurdles with 59.37.

In the 400m despite the conditions there were PBs to Tate Van Camp 50.37, Andrew Pfeffer 52.05, Dylan Reid 59.97 and Elliott Stannard 65.23.

In the 3k Kristina Kersten ran on strongly to record 11:26.66 while Patrick Reid’s effort to record 4:45.58 for 1500m in the worst of the conditions was very good.

Tiana Solley, Haiden Boyd and Daniel Casey kept the pointscore ticking over with multiple outings on the day.

Well done everyone on a very solid meet I was very appreciative of both our own sterling efforts as well as the Americans coming half way round the world today.
