There were some big performances today at the Alana Boyd Shield by our athletes as the season really starts to kick in ahead of the State Championships in March at QE2 and Nationals in Perth in April.

April Laurikanen second in the Open Shot Put with 11.99m and Aidan Dallinger a PB of 13.85m to win the Open Triple Jump both got themselves on the plane to Perth with National Qualifiers.

Aidan also took the second heat of the 100m with 11.27 into a 1.5 m/s headwind with Andrew Pfeffer 11.55, Haiden Boyd 11.64 and Isaac Ting 11.70 also performing well.

Andrew backed up with a 400m PB of 53.00 with Patrick Reid 66.57 and Laura Bray 62.90 also scoring good PBs with solid runs by Tate Van Camp 51.41, Hayden Boyd 54.41, Dylan Reid 60.52 and Isla Reid 63.66.

Dylan and Patrick completed a tough double with the 1500m as well recording 4:44.29 and 4:47.34.

Genesys S’Au finished 2nd in Under 18 Shot Put with 9.90m, Lyndon Maynard was 10th in Open High Jump with 1.80m and Hayden Lockhart 12.37m for 6th in Open Triple Jump.

All in all a very good day for us so well done to all who competed.
